Long break from blogging.

I was reading IEEE Spectrum special report on China’s tech revolution.
Very interesting and the point that strike me most :
“In China, Engineers Rule

(Quoted verbatim from above mentioned article in IEEE spectrum)

For the first time ever, all the members of China’s elite Politburo Standing Committee, the highest tier within the Communist Party, are card-carrying engineers. Although the country’s push toward science and technology development began well before the current group came to power, it’s safe to say the Politburo will continue down the same road. The nine members are:

  • Hu Jintao, 62, president of the People’s Republic of China, graduate of Tsinghua University, Beijing, department of water conservancy engineering.
  • Huang Ju, 66, graduate of Tsinghua University, department of electrical engineering.
  • Jia Qinglin, 65, graduate of Hebei Engineering College, department of electric power.
  • Li Changchun, 61, graduate of Harbin Institute of Technology, department of electric machinery.
  • Luo Gan, 69, graduate of Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, Germany.
  • Wen Jiabao, 62, premier of State Council, graduate of Beijing Institute of Geology, department of geology and minerals.
  • Wu Bangguo, 63, graduate of Tsinghua University, department of radio engineering.
  • Wu Guanzheng, 66, graduate of Tsinghua University, power department.
  • Zeng Qinghong, 65, graduate of Beijing Institute of Technology, automatic control department.

Why does this matter? Compare with the 99% of the dickheads and morons leading India. Thinking just about how to win next election using “muslim vote”, “yadav vote” , do stupid things like open bus route from Kashmir to Pakistan. We have a scientist as President, but with no powers, been there just to watch and endorse the clown show.

I think best solution is have certain percent of seats reserved for each profession. Like reserving 50% of the seats for Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Farmers, Businessman and so on who have at least 5 years experience in their filed and no criminal record, leaving rest of the 50% seats as open(potentially to morons).

BTW from previous post, I finished reading “The Da Vinci Code” just next day after finishing “Angels & Demons”, another terrific thriller.

One Response to “Long Time!”

  1. That is an interesting article. It is worth reading it.
