Till now I was hosting my site from my home machine (intially with cable net, then with DSL). It worked quite well. Due frequent interrupts, I had to move to “real” hosting. I considered The Internet Hosting Cooperative. But I think OpenHosting (The OpenVPS Project) is more flexible and gives more value for money.

Complete Linux server with root access, 300+ pre-installed RPM’s and 3GB of free space starting at $26.95/month!

Move was easy, just had to move half a gig of data(and dsl upload sucks). OpenHosting support is good.

Dreamhost has a cool deal now (2.4GB space + a whopping 120GB bandwidth) for $7.95/month. But yeah I got root :-) with OpenHosting. But thats not the only reason. OpenHosting is live instance of a freesoftware project (OpenVPS) for Web Hosting centers.
